As one of the most hyped-up DLCs the franchise has had yet, Lightfall promised to deliver all-new content and much-needed quality-of-life improvements in equal measure, but not everyone thinks it's a slam dunk.
While Destiny 2 has certainly had its ups and downs over the years, the release of the Witch Queen DLC was widely regarded as a new high for the franchise. This, of course, set the stage for the Lightfall expansion as well, but a large subset of the game's community isn't thrilled with what it's seen so far.

While they did approve of the new Strand subclass and the overall gameplay loop of the campaign, they felt that the story was rushed and «goofy,» all the while failing to explain some of the context surrounding the newfound civilization of Neomuna. Further, there's no explanation as to why Neomuna never helped Earth during the Red War, which is an obvious point of contention. LapisStrike11's feedback to Lightfall is already very popular on the Destiny subreddit, with over 1,200 upvotes in total and an upvote ratio of almost 95%, suggesting that many agree with their criticism of the DLC.
