Destiny 2: Lightfall seems to be missing its main, original gear set. Bungie's latest flagship offering has not gone down well in many respects, and while the DLC still compares favorably to the game's old Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions, it needed to follow up on Witch Queen's high marks, which was no mean feat. It seems that not all of its problems have been spotted just yet, however.
A rumor has it that Destiny 2: Lightfall is just filler until Bungie can properly produce next year's Final Shape DLC, and the game's community is finding more and more signs that substantial portions of the expansion were cut ahead of its release. With a rushed main narrative that fails to explain its most important beats and no new core activity armor sets, for example, things are not looking up.
Destiny 2 Theory Provides Best Guess at What 'The Veil' Is
The latest problem with Destiny 2's new DLC, by the looks of it, is that Lightfall is missing a full set of gear that was prominently featured as part of its pre-release marketing campaign. Numerous CGI trailers and official artwork have shown unique weapon models that fit in with the core aesthetic of Neomuna, but stand apart from the location's baseline weapon set. In fact, these same weapons can also be spotted on the DLC's campaign mission selection screen. Featured are the prominently shown hand cannon, a sword, a light machine gun, and a rocket launcher, with the break-action grenade launcher only visible on the pre-launch marketing materials.
Curiously, these are all depicted alongside one of Destiny 2: Lightfall's repurposed Shadowkeep weapons, implying that the two sets were meant to coexist in some sense. Since the post-campaign content of Lightfall is still unraveling,
