The full title of Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding sequel appears to have leaked.
Highly reliable dataminer billbil-kun claims that the game is called Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach.
According to the leaker, fans shouldn’t have to wait long to receive official confirmation, as a new reveal for the game is said to be imminent.
While they couldn’t provide an exact date for the product announcement, they estimate it will be made within the next 15 days.
It’s also speculated that the reveal could take place during an unannounced PlayStation State of Play presentation.
Death Stranding 2 was announced in December 2022 with a reveal trailer at The Game Awards.
The trailer for the sequel, which will be published by Sony for PS5, stars Léa Seydoux, who played the character Fragile in the first game. It also confirms that Norman Reedus will be returning, and notes that Troy Baker will star too.
Sony published Death Stranding for PS4 in November 2019 and 505 released it for PC in July 2020. A Director’s Cut hit PS5 in 2021 and PC the following year.
The game has been played by 16 million people across all platforms, including subscription services like PlayStation Plus and PC Game Pass, according to Kojima Productions.
The company announced last month that it has teamed up with A24 to bring a live-action film adaptation of Death Stranding to the big screen.
A24 is the film distribution and production company behind movies like Everything Everywhere All At Once, Talk to Me, Uncut Gems, Midsommar, Lady Bird and Moonlight.
“The film promises to delve into the mysteries surrounding the apocalyptic event called the ‘Death Stranding,’ which blurred the lines between life and death, and brought forth nightmarish creatures into a world on the brink of collapse,” said Kojima Productions.
