After a brief tease during its anniversary stream earlier this year, Behaviour Interactive announced today that the Castlevania chapter will arrive in Dead by Daylight later this month.
In a press release, Behaviour Interactive confirmed that the Castlevania chapter in Dead by Daylight will be available starting August 27. The chapter will introduce two new playable characters: Dracula will be the latest killer joining the roster, while Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse protagonist Trevor Belmont will be the new survivor.
Behaviour notes that although Trevor is not the Belmont known for his brawn, Behaviour teases that his "unique skillset serves to set him apart," including his collaboration skills, which make him an effective team player. In contrast, Dracula has many different forms he can take, noting that Dracula has three different forms: Vampire, Bat, and Wolf.
"We wanted to create fluidity in the way players can have Dracula change between his different forms and have it feel seamless," Dead by Daylight Creative Director Dave Richard explained in the press release. When I first played Symphony of the Night — which is one of my favorite games of all time — having vampiric powers like these was absolutely amazing. Being able to put players in the shoes of The Dark Lord in Dead by Daylight was an alluring and unique opportunity for us."
Those who play Dead by Daylight on PC and are eager to play the chapter can now access it via Steam public test build.
