It's a widely held belief that every Pokémon is someone's favorite and while Lapras may not be able to compete with the likes of Lucario, Gengar, Charizard, and Mimikyu, the Gen 1 pocket monster is still beloved by a decent group of fans. Whether it's sailing across the ocean or simply catching some sunlight, Lapras' design is one of the best in the early games.
Over on The Pokémon Center, fans of the plesiosaur-like creature can now pick up a new Lapras Pop! figure that sports a shiny Pearlescent color scheme. An item exclusively available in the Pokémon Center, this Pop! is unique in that it gives off a delicate shimmer when exposed to the right lighting, making Lapras glisten as though it just emerged from a body of water. While not explicitly linked to Lapras' Terastalized form, the pearlescent effect does evoke the glimmering version of the Pokémon albeit with less jagged edges.
Water is one of the most common types in Pokémon. Some Water-type Pocket Monsters have only this typing and can be very strong in battle.
While Lapras may not be the most powerful or rare Pokémon, many players have developed a fondness for the Water-type thanks to its effectiveness in earlier generations. Not only does it sport decent offensive states, but it can also learn Surf, one of the most vital abilities in the games, and Water Absorb which is similarly powerful.
