As a part of today's new Season of Discovery Phase 4 PTR build, we've datamined changes to several crafted items. Originally, these items were listed as Bind on Equip, but have since been changed to Bind on Pickup. Nearly all of these items grant Fire Resistance, which should come in handy during the Phase 1 raids of Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair.

Editor's Note: While we were initially unsure why this fire resistance gear was changed, WoW Classic Senior Game Producer, Josh Greenfield, added some insight into how these crafted pieces of gear can be upgraded, which will make them Bind on Pickup.

Essentially you'll craft/trade players for the base items as you did before, and then you can get a better version from Lokthos Darkbargainer via exchanging the base item + some extra materials. The cost of the upgrade is not final but is likely to be pretty nominal.
