Update to Waypoints in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred - Mark As Favorite
With the recent reveal of the Spiritborn, we're digging into all related content to see what we can find about the upcoming Vessel of Hatred expansion — and today, we're taking a look at a speculated update to Waypoint functionality in Diablo 4.
Currently, in the live version of the game, fast travel between major regions of Sanctuary happens in one of three ways:
- Players can open the map, choose a discovered Waypoint in the city, town, or area they want to go to, and teleport there.
- Press the town portal button, which automatically teleports the player to the main city of whatever region they are in.
- Use a Scroll of Escape — while this is for Hardcore players only, its function is similar to the town portal except that it's an instant cast, bringing the player to the region's main city.
With the town portal, the community has often requested that developers tweak this functionality so that players can favorite a certain Waypoint or City to automatically teleport to.
In the recent Spiritborn Reveal Livestream, there were videos from content creators such as Rob2628 that revealed what we are currently speculating as being that very wish come true! The below image shows the Kurast Bazaar Waypoint, which we assume is the city center for Nahantu's main city. You can see the city's various vendors and the ability to travel to this Waypoint as well as Mark as Favorite.
This suggests that in the future, we will be able to favorite Waypoints as the location our town portal automatically brings us to. Also, it looks like favoriting Waypoints is not restricted to main city hubs. The below image shows us that the Kurast Docks Waypoint can be marked as a favorite too!
