Ahead of its trailer debut this coming Monday, Lionsgate has announced the release date for the upcoming horror thriller starring Daisy Jones & the Six’s Sam Claflin. In addition, the studio has also shared the film’s official poster, which features a creepy doll-like puppet.
Bagman is scheduled to make its debut in theaters on September 20, which pits the film directly against Apple’s Brad Pitt and George Clooney-led Wolfs movie. It is directed by Colm McCarthy from a screenplay written by John Hulme. Joining Claflin are Antonia Thomas, Sharon D Clarke, Steven Cree, William Hope, Adelle Leonce, Peter McDonald, Henry Pettigrew, Caréll Rhoden, and Will Davis. It is produced by Marty Bowen, John Fischer, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner.
“In the film, a family finds themselves ensnared in a nightmare as they are hunted by a malevolent, mythical creature,” reads the film’s synopsis. “For centuries and across cultures, parents have warned their children of the legendary Bagman, who snatches innocent children and stuffs them into his vile, rotting bag—never to be seen again. Patrick McKee narrowly escaped such an encounter as a boy, which left him with lasting scars throughout his adulthood. Now, Patrick’s childhood tormentor has returned, threatening the safety of his wife Karina and son Jake.”
