The pre-patch for World of Warcraft's latest expansion is finally here, and players can begin preparing for The War Within. This includes starting the pre-requisite quests for The War Within, released in the most recent patch, 10.2.7. This is the final patch for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, and it gives players time to wrap up the Dragonflight campaign before getting stuck in the upcoming expansion. One of the first quest lines players will encounter in the pre-patch is the Harbinger quest line, where players are introduced to the antagonist, Xal'atath.
To start the Harbinger quest line, you have to log in to one of your max-level characters and have the Dragonflight expansion. Immediately, you'll be given the quest "The Harbinger." While you don't need to finish the main campaign for Dragonflight, it is advised to tie up all of the loose ends before you go forward with the pre-patch quest line.
Accept the quest and make your way to Dalaran, where you'll be given instructions on how to progress through the quest line. In total, there are 14 quests for you to complete. This particular quest line is one of the lengthier ones you'll be given in the pre-patch, giving you a huge amount of lore to sift through. Doing this quest line slowly is recommended, as you'll be introduced to the antagonist and given a bit of a setup for what you can expect from The War Within.
