After its most recent dev update (and the final one of the year), the Singularity 6 team still had another surprise left when it came to Palia — the Nintendo Switch release date. Next week, on December 14th, you’ll be able to download and play the free to play cozy sim. The date was revealed along with a new trailer at last night's The Game Awards.
Palia is set to go live on Thursday at 8 AM PDT, with cross-play and cross-progression along with the PC version. If you already started playing on PC and then you want to continue on the go, this will be an option very soon. The Switch release also lets you pre-order from the Nintendo eShop (for free), and there are even some launch day goodies to enjoy. You don’t need a Nintendo Switch Online account to play.
Log in on launch day on the Switch and claim a special red Freshly Painted Froggy Bucket. Link a Nintendo account to a Palia account and get a new, exclusive glider to use in your exploration and the Leap Froggy outfit. There will also be Twitch Drops offered over the two weeks following Tuesday’s launch. Tune in to Palia streams to earn five purple in-game items: Nox the Palcat Plush, Palcat Party Small Rug, Palcat Party Large Rug, Palcat Party Sunglasses, and Palcat Party Wallpaper.
You can even get in, explore the world, and even take in the holiday decor and maybe even toss some snowballs around.
As far as the two releases, you can of course enjoy the game on PC and then move over to Switch when you're on the couch. The content and the gameplay will be exactly the same, but the Switch does have a 30 FPS cap.
