Bugged Palworld Item Permanently Weakens Players

Using a Memory Reset Drug in Palworld could permanently debuff your character, and there's no fix available right now. Palworld developer Pocketpair is advising players to avoid using Memory Reset Medicine until further notice, while the glitch is investigated.

According to the devs, using the item might nerf your capture power, and make it "impossible to recover". There's no word on when the fix will be rolled out, but the devs also mention that a "correction" is in the works, so hopefully anymore affected won't have to abandon their current playthrough.

The announcement was spotted in the official Pocketpair Discord server by PCGamesN. The devs are yet to issue a follow-up saying that the bug has been fixed, so we can assume it's still in the game right now.

"Currently, using the item 'Memory Reset Drug' that resets the player's status may reduce the player's capture power and make it impossible to recover," says Pocketpair's community manager. "We are currently investigating this issue, so we apologize for the inconvenience, but please refrain from using it until the investigation/correction is complete."

Of course, a few teething issues like this are expected in the early access period. Palworld has only been available to play for a few days, launching on January 19 on PC and Xbox. This limited release hasn't held it back, however, as Palworld is currently the most-played game on Steam right now, and has been throughout the day. It even surpassed the playerbase of Counter-Strike 2, which typically has a permanent home at the top of the Steam charts.

As of the most recent announcement, Palworld has sold four million copies. This is just hours after announcing it had sold three million copies, and that all of the sudden success was leading to more server outages. Since this isn't slowing down anytime soon, we can expect more issues with the servers throughout the week, at least until the numbers reach their peak - whatever that ends up being.
