Publisher 505 Games has announced Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake.
The remake of the fantasy adventure title is in development at Milan, Italy-based studio Avantgarden, which previously made Murasaki Baby and Last Day of June.
It will be released on February 28, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.

“A Tale of Two Sons Remake faithfully re-tells the remarkable heart-rending journey of brothers Naia and Naiee as they embark on a quest to save the life of their dying father,” according to 505.
“Built on the Unreal Engine 5, every step of the brothers’ journey has been painstakingly rebuilt from the ground up for the most immersive story possible, whilst remaining faithful to the original game.”
The original Brothers was written and directed by Swedish-Lebanese filmmaker Josef Fares, who developed what his first game in collaboration with Starbreeze, and would later go on to found It Takes Two studio Hazelight.
It sees the player simultaneously controlling two brothers as they set out on a journey to find a cure to save their dying father.
It was first released in 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, before making its way to PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Nintendo Switch and Amazon Luna.
2019’s Switch release added a two-player local co-op mode to the game, allowing friends to each control a brother’s actions. This mode will also be included in the remake.
Brothers won several notable awards including the prize for Best Innovation at the 2014 BAFTA Video Game Awards.
