Bridgerton timeline — here is how much time has passed between season 1 and season 2. Bridgerton season 1 ended with Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, welcoming a son and eldest son Anthony declaring that he will be in search of a wife next season. Anthony’s search comes to fruition in Bridgerton season 2 after meeting and falling in love with Kate Sharma.
It took a while for them to be on the same page considering Anthony wanted to remove love out of the equation by trying to court Kate’s younger sister Edwina. Kate and Anthony’s own love story took place over the course of a few months before the season 2 finale jumps ahead in time. How much time passes exactly? Bridgerton is all about “the season,” a stretch of time in the Regency era that began in January — when parliament reopened — and ended in early July. It was a time in which the ton enjoyed social gatherings, parties, and marital arrangements. Young women were introduced at balls and other social gatherings when they were of age to be married and eligible suitors courted them. Bridgerton season 1 and season 2 both take place during the span of the social season, but they don’t necessarily start and end in the same place.

Season 1 takes place over the course of a few months. There was a lot going on there, including Daphne's brief courtship with Queen Charlotte’s nephew. Simon and Daphne were married while the season was still ongoing — likely in March — and Bridgerton season 1 ended nine months later with the birth of their son, August, but ahead of the start of the ton’s next season.
