The ensemble cast of Bridgerton just spilled the details about what it was like to film a fan-favorite scene involving the game of Pall Mall from the books that will come to life on-screen in season 2. Bridgerton is based on the book series of the same name by Julia Quinn and rose to popularity after season 1, produced by Shonda Rhimes and created by Chris Van Dusen, debuted on Netflix in 2020. While the first season primarily focused on the love affair between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page), season 2 will switch gears and focus on Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) abandoning his rakish ways as he looks for a woman to marry.
Specifically, the season will follow the drama that unfolds as newcomer Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) tries to protect her sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran) from Anthony's advances. Readers of the book series know that this season will be based heavily on the second book in the series The Viscount Who Loved Me, which features a heated competition between the Bridgertons and the Sharmas as they play Pall Mall, a Regency-era version of today's game of croquet. The new Bridgerton season 2 trailer shows the game bringing out everyone's competitive natures and the potential for some unexpected feelings to arise.
