Bridgerton season 2 left some questions unanswered, but Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton book series might help predict what awaits the Bridgertons, Featheringtons, and the other families of the ton in Bridgerton season 3. With Bridgerton season 2 being based on the series’ second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, its main focus was on Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his search for a suitable wife. If the show were to follow the book order, it would mean that Bridgerton season 3 would focus on Benedict’s story, as told in his book, An Offer From A Gentleman, which could provide some answers to the unfinished storylines from Bridgerton season 2.
While Anthony, Kate (Simone Ashley), and their romance were at the front and center, Bridgerton season 2 also managed to shine a light on some characters whose story arcs started in season 1. Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) could be seen struggling to juggle her two worlds, her place by her family’s side and her secret commitments as Lady Whistledown, while Eloise’s (Claudia Jessie) quest to learn the truth behind Lady Whistledown brought her to unknown environments she unexpectedly liked and caused a rift between her and Penelope. In addition, Bridgerton season 2 succeeded in bringing into the fold characters who viewers had only briefly seen before, such as Anthony and Gregory’s talk, which set up Bridgerton season 8, did in season 2 episode 8.
