Chris Van Dusen responds to questions about whether Kate and Edwina Sharma return in Bridgerton season 3. Produced by Shonda Rhimes and her company Shondaland, the romantic period series is among Netflix's most talked-about original series. Now moving on to work on other projects, Bridgerton series creator Van Dusen adapted the book series by Julia Quinn. Bridgerton season 1 aired on Netflix in December 2020. While production delays due to the coronavirus pandemic pushed back the release of season 2, it finally debuted on March 25.
InBridgerton season 1, the primary focus was the growing relationship between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Rege-Jean Page). Sticking to the structure of Quinn's books, season 2 then switched focus to the next Bridgerton sibling, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), and his secret love with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Plenty of future season potential remains for the Netflix production with the Bridgerton family's remaining siblings: Violet (Ruth Gemmell), Eloise (Claudia Jessie), Benedict (Luke Thompson), Colin (Luke Newton), Gregory (Will Tilston), and Hyacinth (Florence Hunt).
