Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh is hoping for a Lady Danbury romance storyline. Netflix's hit historical drama returned for a season 2 on March 25. Just like the first, Bridgerton season 2 also proved to be a massive draw in its opening weekend on the streaming service. Trading in season 1's tumultuous courtship between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), the sophomore season focuses on another member of the titular family looking for love, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), who finds himself caught up in an equally rowdy love triangle.
In season 1, Andoh's Lady Danbury played a prominent role as a mentor to Simon, the Duke of Hastings who famously refused to marry, on his intricate journey to winning Daphne's heart. With Page's character not returning, Lady Danbury takes the Sharma sisters under her wing after they arrive from India, and Edwina (Charithra Chandran) enters the matchmaking season intent on finding a husband under the watchful eye of her older sister, Kate (Simone Ashley). Of course, drama and romantic complications ensue when both sisters catch the Viscount's eye.
