Warning: Spoilers ahead for Bridgerton season 2.
Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey teases that audiences could see more of Anthony and Kate's romance in the future. Bridgerton took the world by storm when it was first released in December 2020, enchanting audiences with its regency-inspired costumes, music, and of course, drama. The beloved series follows the Bridgertons, an affluent family living in regency-era London, with the first season focusing on the family's eldest daughter, Daphne, as she navigated society in an attempt to court a husband. Bridgerton season 2 shifted its focus to the Bridgerton's eldest brother, Anthony (Bailey) who falls in love with his fiancé's sister, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley.)
Bridgerton season 2 delved deeper into Anthony's character as audiences learned how the role of family patriarch was thrust upon him following the tragic and sudden loss of his father. The season's key focus, however, was on Anthony's pursuits to find a wife that would meet his impossibly high standards, having sworn that he would not marry for love, for fear of the hurt that he witnessed his mother go through when his father passed away. Audiences were delighted however, when the final episode saw Anthony and Kate decide to follow their hearts, with Kate accepting Anthony's proposal. Given that the series played on the enemies-to-lovers trope, Anthony and Kate's happy ending did not receive much screen time, but now Bailey has teased that audiences may see more from the pair in the future.
