Director and producer of Final Fantasy XIV, Naoki Yoshika, has pleaded with players to stop abusive behavior and trolling towards others in Crystalline Conflict. Crystalline Conflict is new a 5v5 PVP duty from Final Fantasy 14's recent 6.1 update. Two teams of five, representing Astra and Umbra, fight to control and transport a crystal while battling each other.
Most, if not all, games like FF14 that can be played online run the risk of inviting toxic players who go out of their way to harass other players. However, games like League of Legends are prime examples of what happens when developers and moderators do not take the proper measures to enforce rules and punish toxic players. Final Fantasy XIV may have a better reputation when it comes to maintaining its community, but as one of the larger MMOs in the world, Final Fantasy 14 still has its challenges managing a player base of that size.

Naoki Yoshika gave a list of troublesome behaviors that the developers have observed players doing in Crystalline Conflict, and begged players to put a stop to trolling in Final Fantasy 14. On the official Final Fantasy XIV website, Yoshika's list includes examples such as«Repeatedly using the Quick Chat phrase 'Nice job!' during a disadvantageous situation,» where players are overly passive-aggressive to the point it becomes distracting.Another point mentioned was «Uncooperative/Lethargic behavior,» referring to players with either play against their team on purpose or don't play at all in other to lose out of spite.
