A mischievous Korok recently chimed in while Link was in the middle of a battle against a Guardian in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, which led to the green-clad hero suffering a humiliating setback. Typically, these quirky little plant creatures are benevolent, offering Link Korok seeds that he can trade for increased weapon slots after he completes various puzzles throughout the open-world land of Hyrule.
However, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild has been home to plenty of humorous and random NPC antics, owning up to the game’s unpredictable AI. Some of these AI behaviors happen completely on their own, such as Link observing a flock of BOTW's sheep huddling together during a rainstorm or Guardian scouts destroying Remote Bombs before they can detonate. Others are triggered by the player’s actions, such as Link tricking a member of the Yiga Clan into stealing valuable artifacts from their own base or teaching enemies to play soccer using the aforementioned Remote Bombs. Not all of these random events are fun for Link though, as sometimes an NPC might randomly pop in during an intense battle against a particularly powerful foe.

This was the case when Reddit user strong_le tried challenging a pair of hulking Guardians from across a nearby tower in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. As shown in a brief gameplay clip strong_le posted to r/Zelda, Link initially does a solid job in reflecting the BOTW Guardians’ energy blasts with his trusty shield – at least until he comes across a Korok that is hovering right next to him.
