The game allows players to meet the ancestors of various characters seen through the series, along with ancient versions of Pokemon that can be found while traversing the world.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus provides players a real-time component to capturing Pokemon, with a more Monster Hunter-esque approach to its gameplay structure. Players can now capture Pokemon in more open world areas, with plenty of ways for trainers to explore and travel. This even extends to how players can traverse the world, where they can plan out how to get from one area to the next in order to get a certain wild Pokemon. One player discovered an incredibly helpful glitch that can help players travel around the Hisui Region.

The Pokemon Legends: Arceus glitch was discovered by @ScarletAkuma_ on Twitter, who posted a video of the glitch in action. To pull this off, the player must be holding the aim button, while also walking up a surface. This glitch demonstrates that the trainer is able to walk up the face of a mountain, but not slip or fall off. This of course allows a player to take a shortcut that skips a majority of the mountain's normal path.
