A Bloodborne fan created an impressive illustration of the game's main protagonist, The Hunter. The critically acclaimed action RPG recently celebrated its ninth anniversary.
Released in March 2015, Bloodborne won the hearts of many with its Gothic-style visuals, heavy atmosphere, and challenging gameplay — all staples of titles created by Japanese developer FromSoftware. The PlayStation 4 exclusive's captivating art direction clearly shows in its player character and main protagonist, The Hunter, who wears Victorian-era clothes and wields old-fashioned weapons like a blunderbuss. This character and their unique style have become the subjects of an incredibly talented artist's recent work.
In a post on Reddit, user artcore6666 shared their impressive hand-drawn, black-and-white illustration of Bloodborne's The Hunter. Many community members praised the work that featured the Boom Hammer, which is considered to be among Bloodborne's best Strength weapons. One commenter also pointed out that artcore6666's rendition of The Hunter looked similar to the character Bloodhound from Respawn Entertainment's popular free-to-play hero shooter, Apex Legends.
Bloodborne has inspired many artists to create incredible fan pieces ever since it was released. For example, another Reddit user, IcyAO, made an acrylic painting of Bloodborne's The Hunter wielding the game's iconic Saw Cleaver. This A3-sized artwork, which took between 20 and 30 hours to finish, also received a lot of compliments from fellow fans.
The Bloodborne community has organized a Return to Yharnam 2024 event that will began on March 24, which is when the game marked its ninth anniversary, through April 7. During this period, fans are encouraged to create a new Bloodborne character and replay FromSoftware's critically acclaimed action RPG title. They have also been asked to engage in as much co-op as possible and drop messages next to the game's many lanterns.
