Black Desert Online Opens 2024 With Improvements, Events, and More Challenging and Rewarding Monster Zones

Black Desert Online has a new update, including events to kick off 2024. The patch offers several improvements, including making the prequel quest for Atoraxxion optional, a simpler way to enhance your gear, and adjustments to monster zones.

Pearl Abyss continues working to make Black Desert more playable for all. In deciding to make the Atoraxxion prequel quest optional, groups interested in taking on the dungeon now have a way to enter it directly. This quality of life change is just about the quest and how you enter, as the level requirement still stands.

The team has consolidated Beginner Black Stones for weapons and armor into a single stone. This will be what drops from challenges and the season pass, and you can use it to enhance any type of gear. Another gear-related change is the ability to exchange TET IV weapons you can’t register on the market into Godr-Ayed weapons.

Monster zones get some adjustments to make them more worthwhile for those at higher levels and with better gear. With a higher AP cap, monsters get higher HP, as the team attempts to balance between increased challenge and not letting monsters go down too fast. There are other changes in monster zones to increase revenue opportunities.

The update also opens up some events, including Blessings from Kamasylve, which features an apparition of young Kamasylve (for which the Kamasylvia region is named) that you can obtain when killing monsters. Touch it and score a powerful 2-hour boost. 

Guild Boss Subjugation also gets some adjustments in the patch to improve the combat experience and rewards in order to attract more participants. This includes better rewards, mechanics overhauls, adjustments to the  boss patterns, and attempts to make the combat
