After The Weeknd and Lady Gaga's release, singer-songwriter Billie Eilish seems to be next up on stage for Fortnite Festival. Developed by Harmonix, the studio behind the Rock Band games, Fortnite Festival is a rhythm game in a similar vein to Harmonix's previous releases. Players either play in a group or solo, hitting notes on a track depending on which instrument they decide to play.
In a leaked image of the 2024 roadmap for Fortnite, Billie Eilish was shown up next for the franchise along with Metallica, Karol G, and Snoop Dogg coming to the game later this year. HYPEX reported about the image on Twitter after it was found on 4Chan with no caption. It also pictured several other franchises coming to Fortnite, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Fantastic Four, and LEGO Star Wars. Previous reports also claim that new X-Men skins will be coming to the game.
Billie Eilish drops into Fortnite on April 23 and will be unlockable in the festival pass for Fortnite Festival. Eilish announced the skin via Twitter with an image of it and the release date. The skin is also expected to be usable in most other game modes, like Battle Royale and Rocket Racing. Fortnite Festival has had many developments in the few months it’s been out. Besides the upcoming Billie Eilish addition, plastic peripherals have been released for Fortnite Festival in anticipation that players would use them for the rhythm game mode.
Fortnite has been pushing out features for its new game modes like Festival, LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing since December last year in a push to be more like a metaverse for games similar to Roblox. The leaked roadmap includes plans for all four game modes for the year, with LEGO Fortnite receiving the most major updates.
