Last month, Baldur's Gate 3 fans discovered a plethora of cut content revealing a scrapped Upper City, the conclusion to Karlach's story, Minthara possibly going through a pregnancy, and so much more. But nestled in that huge list was a detail most missed - a cut werewolf bard companion.
"Baldur's Gate 3 was apparently supposed to have a halfling werewolf bard named Helia," YouTuber Kala Elizabeth tweeted. "Data mined files have been found of recorded audio which is presumed to be Helia, who was cut some time ago. Would love a werewolf companion and [to] play as a werewolf and vampire myself."

Helia was first uncovered by data miners during the game's early access period. Before the game fully launched, Larian Studios revealed the also data mined Karlach and teased a final origin character that would come with the game's release. Fans believed this would be the long-awaited Helia, but it turned out to be the Dark Urge. With her being cut, we not only lack a werewolf companion at our camp, but a bard, unless you respec your party members.
Interestingly, Helia even had voiced dialogue, meaning she was cast at some point. It's unclear how much was recorded or even how far along the development got, but many fans want to see her restored in a director's cut of Baldur's Gate 3 or future DLC.
However, Larian Studios has clarified that it has no plans for an expansion and it has already begun work on its next project, whatever that may be. Maybe there will be a DC down the line, but for the time being, Helia remains on the cutting room floor.
