ASUS has launched its high-end ROG Zephyrus & TUF Gaming laptops based on the AMD Ryzen AI 300 APU platform, starting at $1200 US.
With the official launch of AMD's Ryzen AI 300 APUs getting closer, it looks like vendors have started to showcase their lineup around the architecture, with ASUS probably being the most decorative of them all. Just recently, we reported on several ASUS laptop models such as the ZenBook, VivoBook & ProArt series powered by the very same chips. Now, ASUS is launching higher-end ROG & TUF Gaming laptops.
ASUS has showcased the newest TUF A16 gaming laptop in China, which utilizes AMD's Ryzen AI 9 365 and Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APUs. In terms of processor specifications, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is a 12-core and 24-thread chip that offers boost clocks of up to 5.1 GHz. It features the Radeon 890M iGPU with 16 compute units or 1024 cores and is regarded as a highly capable offering by AMD for the mobile segment, with recent testing showing incredible single-core performance.
ASUS's latest TUF A16 & ROG Zephyrus laptops come with discrete GPUs including the RTX 4060 & RTX 4070. The laptops also feature up to 32 GB LPDDR5X-7500 memory and feature two M.2 SSD interfaces for ample connectivity. Given that it's a gaming laptop, ASUS has managed to beef up display settings as well, offering a 16-inch, 2.5K resolution panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness while the ROG Zephyrus model features a 14" display with similar capabilities.
In terms of connectivity interface, the ASUS TUF A16 laptop supports a Thunderbolt 4 (USB4) connection, which is simply possible due to the new Hawk Point architecture. The laptop also features HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C with a 100W PD port and a 3.5mm headphone
