Many fans have wished that a sequel for this 2010 cult classic would be made, with Remedy announcing they will return to Bright Falls in 2023, with Alan Wake 2 being a full-on survival-horror game.
Ever since its reveal, Remedy has been sharing small details about its development and what to expect for this sequel. This includes concept art for Alan Wake 2, the announcement that the original actors and performers from the first game will be reprising their roles, and even smaller details such as how it is targeting an M-rating. Director Sam Lake has been rather open about these details, and even shared a tidbit on its story, claiming it to be a «monster.»
Remedy Entertainment Outlines Five Upcoming Games
This statement came from one of Lake's latest tweets, giving fans an update on how Alan Wake 2's story is progressing. He posted a photo with principal writer Clay Murphy, where he notes that the current page count is more than any other project that the studio has done before. This implies either the story is going to be longer than the original or there is plenty of dialogue that will be heard throughout the game that is primarily causing the increase in pages.
