The cast for American Horror Stories season 2, episode 1, “Dollhouse,” features a mix of returning and new AHS actors to portray the eerie characters. American Horror Stories serves as a spinoff to the 11-season hit series American Horror Story, although instead of a different narrative every season, the anthology show depicts a new nightmare every episode. Kicking off American Horror Stories season 2 after a mixed-reviewed first season, “Dollhouse” sees a true return to form for the frightening tales expected of the franchise.
“Dollhouse,” which is set in 1961, follows a girl named Colby who is kidnapped during a job interview, after which she is taken to the toy maker’s personal dollhouse. While being dressed up as a life-sized doll, Coby discovers that she must perform a series of tests against other kidnapped girls, with the winner being chosen as the new mother to Mr. Van Wirt’s son, Otis. During the trials, Co by reveals that she has magical powers, with the twist ending of American Horror Stories season 2, episode 1 revealing that Otis is, in fact, a young Spalding from American Horror Story: Coven.

The smaller American Horror Stories cast allows the spinoff series to have different stars shine in each creepy tale, with returning AHS actors leading nearly every installment.
