Remedy has announced a release date for Alan Wake 2’s New Game Plus mode.
It will launch on December 11 as part of an update titled ‘The Final Draft’.
New Game Plus will enable players to retain all weapons, Charms and upgrades unlocked during an earlier playthrough.
The Final Draft will also introduce a new Nightmare difficulty level, and a new ending to the game’s story, with fresh lore discoverable in the form of videos and manuscript pages.
The update will include numerous bug fixes and some performance optimisations too.
Remedy is also working on two paid Alan Wake 2 expansions. The first, Night Springs, is currently scheduled to be released in late spring 2024, while the second, The Lakehouse, has yet to receive a release window.
VGC’s Alan Wake 2 review called it “a confident and often ground-breaking thriller” featuring brilliant writing, incredible visuals and genuine scares.
At last night’s The Game Awards, Alan Wake 2 took home prizes for Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction and Best Narrative.
