Sega and Apple have announced a brand new Sonic game coming exclusively to Apple Arcade.
Whereas previous popular Sonic games on mobile tend to be endless runners, Sonic Dream Team is a new 3D platformer.
Players will be able to take control of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge or Cream in a new adventure set to release on December 5.
The game revolves around the Reverie, an ancient device Dr Eggman has found. The Reverie has the power to manifest dreams into reality, so Sonic and his friends have to stop Eggman using it to take over the world.
“Join Sonic and friends as they dive deep into a bizarre world of dreams,” the game’s description reads.
“Unravel an original and captivating storyline while taking command of six dynamic playable characters. With their unique abilities, dash, climb and fly your way to victory against infamous Eggman.
“Get ready to race through mind-bending dream worlds that include wall-running, gravity changes, and more. Your mission: fight to rescue your friends and battle Eggman for control of an ancient artifact that can make dreams come true.

Apple Arcade launched in 2019 and lets iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac users access over 200 games for a monthly cost of $4.99 / £4.99. Apple Arcade games feature no ads and no microtransactions.
It’s also part of the Apple One plan, which lets players access Apple Arcade, Apple Music, Apple TV+ and increased iCloud storage for a reduced monthly fee (compared to subscribing to each service separately).
