15-Inch MacBook Air Launch Imminent At WWDC 2023 In June As Suppliers Boost Production
Apple is set to host its highly anticipated WWDC 2023 event on June 5, where it will see fit to announce iOS 17, watchOS 10, and a boatload of other updates. The company is also expected to announce its rumored AR Headset alongside the larger 15-inch MacBook Air. While the event is printed towards developers and software releases, Apple sees fit to reveal new hardware at the event as well. Today, it is being reported that Apple's suppliers are ramping up production for the larger 15-inch MacBook Air ahead of the potential launch at WWDC 2023. According to Morgan Stanley's Erik Woodring, Apple supplier Quanta Computer is aiming to ramp up the production of notebooks in the second half of this year compared to the prior (via MacRumors). The analyst coins that the production is associated with the new 15-inch MacBook Air that Apple is aiming to launch at its highly anticipated WWDC event in June. This is not the first time that we are hearing details on the larger version of the MacBook Air.
In his Power On newsletter last month, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman stated that Apple plans to launch a 15-inch version of the MacBook Air at its WWDC event. Gurman stated that Apple will reveal the machine alongside its major software updates such as iOS 17, watchOS 10, and many more. He also stated that the company will release its AR Headset alongside the new MacBook.
As for what you should expect, the 15-inch MacBook Air will be powered by the M2 chip at launch. The processor will potentially feature the same core configuration as the 13.6-inch variant.
