You’ll need a beast of a gaming PC to run ‘The Last of Us Part 1’ at max settings
Even though it was first released more than a decade ago, the video game of The Last of Us Part 1 has had quite a few versions over the years, and it’s more popular than ever thanks to the hit TV show on HBO starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Now the game’s coming to PC through the Steam and Epic Games Store, but if you want to play it at max settings, you better have an elephant of a machine.
The Playstation.Blog recently offered a deeper dive into the upcoming game, including the specs necessary to run it.
“Whether you’re coming to the launch of The Last of Us Part I on PC as a first timer – maybe you’ve been enjoying The Last of Us on HBO and want to jump into the game? – or if you’re a returning player who wants to experience this memorable adventure all over again, we hope the PC version will be an exciting way for everyone to play.”
The game will pretty much be identical to the PS5 version, but it will have “plenty of PC features.” For example, the game features “AMD FSR 2.2 support, Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution support, VSync and frame rate cap options, and a host of features designed specifically for PC, including adjustable Texture Quality, Shadows, Reflections, Ambient Occlusion, and more.”
Those not necessarily wanting to use a keyboard and mouse will be happy to know the game features DualSense controller support, allowing for players to feel the vibrations from passing tanks and the haptic feedback and dynamic triggers from the game’s various guns.
To play the game at the Ultra setting, the game requires an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor or an Intel Core i5-12600K Processor. You’ll need 32 GB of ram and 100 GB SSD of storage space.
As for GPU, you’ll need an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT or a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080.
