Sarah Bond has teased that the next Xbox console will feature the "largest technical leap" between console generations that players will have ever seen.
After months of rumours and worry, Xbox has finally commented on the rumours that some of its exclusive games are coming to other platforms in a business-focused episode of the Xbox Podcast, which revealed that only four titles are planned on being ported right now. We don't officially know what those four games are, but it's been reported that they include Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded.
Although the business update was mainly focused on calming Xbox fans down and disputing the rumours that massive titles like Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are coming to other platforms, that's not all that was talked about there. Phil Spencer, Matt Booty, Tina Amini, and Sarah Bond also discussed the future of Xbox, which included a little bit of teasing about the next generations of consoles.
After discussing what role hardware plays for Xbox, Sarah Bond noted that the studio is already "invested in the next generation roadmap", which is something that has been rumoured for some time. Bond didn't go as far as revealing any details about what the next Xbox is going to look like or be focused on, but he did give a little tease about how powerful it's going to be by saying that it's going to be "the largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation".
"We're also invested in the next-generation roadmap. And what we're really focused on there is delivering the largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation, which makes it better for players and better for creators and the visions that they're building."
Bond's claims about a powerful technical leap are specifically in reference to the next generation of Xbox consoles, but that seemingly isn't all that's in the works right now, as he also teased that there's "some exciting stuff coming out in hardware
