Microsoft has announced an Xbox Games Showcase and a “Redacted” Direct for June.
The Xbox Games Showcase – the first to include games across Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios – will be livestreamed on June 9, 2024, starting at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
For the second year in a row, the showcase will take place in Los Angeles, California, during the same week as Summer Game Fest.
The showcase will be followed by a direct which Microsoft is currently billing as “Redacted”, which is reportedly related to the next Call of Duty game.
“We’ll be airing a special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise,” reads a post on the Xbox Wire announcing the event.
According to The Verge, Microsoft will have “a lot of games to show” at the event, including games planned for 2025.
The report also lists what it claims are target launch months for Xbox’s first-party games coming in 2024, including Starfield‘s Shattered Space expansion, the new Call of Duty, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Flight Simulator 2024 and Avowed.
Airtime for the Xbox Games Showcase followed by the Redacted Direct in local time zones:
Summer Game Fest is set to return with a live event on June 7. This will then be followed by SGF Play Days, an invite-only media and influencer event in downtown Los Angeles, will return on June 8 – 10, produced by iam8bit.
The event now has the spotlight to itself as the industry’s premier June showcase, since The Entertainment Software Association confirmed in December that E3, which began in the 1990s, won’t be coming back.
