Last year, the WWE 2K welcomed back MyGM mode after years of pleading from fans, but the results were somewhat mixed. While the mode showed promise, I personally felt there was a lot of room to grow. Thankfully, it sounds MyGM has received some attention this year. Just looking at the stats, WWE 2K23’s MyGM will be adding 5 new GMs (Xavier Woods, Tyler Breeze, Kurt Angle, Eric Bischoff, and Mick Foley), 2 brands (NXT 2.0 and WCW), and 7 match types (Steel Cage, Last Man Standing, and more). In addition to that, MyGM will have more structure, with players aiming to complete challenges that will eventually earn them a spot in the GM Hall of Fame. Players will also be able to play multiple seasons, allowing your GM fantasy to potentially go on forever.
With MyGM covered, we now move on to the most important part of any wrestling game – the Creation suite that lets you bring to life whatever monstrosities your sick mind can imagine. This time around, Visual Concepts is promising over 600 new parts for your wrestlers and the return of in-depth create-an-entrance tools. On top of that, during a recent developer deep-dive session with press, WWE 2K23 producer Lynell Jinks promised the overall fidelity of created wrestlers has been improved.
