New 4K Lies of P gameplay footage was shared online, providing a new look at the Bloodborne-inspired Soulslike launching later this year on PC, consoles, and Xbox Game Pass worldwide.
The new video, which was captured during GDC 2023 and shared on YouTube by GameSpot, is an eleven-minute long video that gives a good idea of how the game will play, highlighting exploration and combat mechanics, among other things, which are looking rather good.
The new Lies of P footage is the first new look at the game after a few months. The game's previous trailer, which confirmed the August 2023 release window, featured no gameplay whatsoever, so fans of the game had to make do with the footage provided by AMD, which showcased the game running smoothly at 8K resolution on an RX 7900 XTX GPU.
Lies of P is setting out to be one of the most interesting Soulslike of the past few years. The game in development by Neowiz is a dark reimagining of the tale of Pinocchio, where the puppet mechanoid will fight his way to humanity. During his search for Geppetto in the city of Krat, a fictional city inspired by the Belle Époque Era in Europe (late 19th Century to the early 20th Century), Pinocchio will have to fight a multitude of enemies with weapons that he can create himself and switch parts of his body to unlock new skills which will also help him outside of combat.
Lies of P releases on August 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. A precise release date has yet to be confirmed.
