A new patch for Tchia has been released with a bunch of bug fixes and for those on PlayStation 5, a 60fps mode. It’s only available in 1080p which is a little disappointing.

The game has you playing as Tchia – a young girl living her best island life when a group demons kidnap your father. Led by the diabolical Meavora — the ruler of the archipelago — and his warlord henchman, these demons are made of tribal masks and magical cloth. Armed with a slingshot, a glider and the ability to soul jump into things (regardless of whether they traditionally have a soul), your mission is to stop Meavora at all costs.
We’ve been hands on with Tchia a couple times, and in our most recent preview Nic said, “There’s a lot to love about Tchia, and I’m very interested to see where the game is going. With all its inspirations from New Caledonian traditions, music, customs and folklore, there’s sure to be an interesting mythology that I’m excited to learn about.”
Sadly the game didn’t live up to our expectations and only scored a very average 5/10 in our review. “Tchia is clearly a labour of love as Awaceb try to bring their culture to the rest of the world and show off what it has to offer,” said Nic. “I absolutely love that tone and feel, but the way Tchia is packaged and paced means that it is ultimately feels like less than the sum of its parts.”
