Why Ashley Barrett could become the Boys’ biggest ally in season 4. Ashley has been through quite a journey and transformation since the start of The Boys. From the Director of Talent Relations to CEO of Vought, Ashley has climbed the ladder to the top, but the more power and control she thinks she has, the scarier things become.
In The Boys season 3, Ashley has been trying to pretend that everything at Vought is under control, doing her best to maintain the status quo while attempting not to ruffle Homelander’s feathers for fear of him losing his temper and killing her. Ashley is the picture of what it means to toe the company line, upholding the image of Vought even while everything (including her hair) is falling apart around her. However, The Boys season 3 finale might have changed Ashley’s season 4 trajectory. Ashley deleted the video confirming Maeve survived her fall with Soldier Boy, maintaining the cover that she died heroically. This was an impulsive and thoughtful act considering everything Ashley did to help keep Maeve hidden from the public in The Boys season 3.

Ashley knows exactly what would happen if Homelander realized Maeve was still alive. Protecting Maeve from Homelander is Ashley’s first official act of rebellion. With that in mind, it’s possible Ashley will shift her alliances in The Boys season 4, joining them in their mission to take down Homelander. She could feed them information on Homelander and Vought; as CEO, she is the most knowledgeable on what’s going on and the Boys would be remiss to neglect her position of power.
