Florence Kasumba, who plays Ayo in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, teases details about Wakanda's need for allies. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the followup to 2018's Black Panther starring Chadwick Boseman as the titular hero. That film earned over $1.3 billion worldwide and was the first superhero film nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Ryan Coogler is directing the sequel after having helmed the first film, and he is also joined by his fellow Black Panther co-writer Joe Robert Cole in penning the script. Black Panther 2 stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Tenoch Huerta, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, Danai Gurira, Dominque Thorne, and Kasumba as Ayo, a member of the Dora Milaje. A recently released Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer has shown audiences a nation in mourning, with Boseman's King T'Challa having passed away and the country going to war with Atlantis. With Wakanda facing numerous struggles, the need for allies looks to be upon them.
