Letitia Wright reveals how Shuri deals with the death of T'Challa in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Marvel Studios greenlighting the Black Panther sequel was a no-brainer. The 2018 film is one of, if not the best the MCU has to offer thus far. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is also bringing back the whole cast and crew, led by director Ryan Coogler, as the follow-up continues the Wakandans' story in the universe.
Sadly, Black Panther 2 was met with a sudden and tragic development with the death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020. For a while, Marvel Studios was unsure how they were going to move forward with the project, or if at all. Ultimately, everyone came together and figured out a way to rework Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to honor T'Challa and Boseman's legacy. In terms of narrative, Wakanda would also be mourning the death of its king, which will be a big part of its narrative as it affects all primary players in the sequel. That includes his younger sister, Shuri, with whom he had a close relationship.

Speaking with Black Nerd Girls at San Diego Comic-Con, Wright talks about how the death of T'Challa affects Shuri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
