Is Shuri the new Black Panther in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever? There's certainly no shortage of clues pointing to how T'Challa's tech genius sister Shuri, played by actor Letitia Wright, will be the next one to put on the mantle of Wakanda's ruler and protector. While Shuri becoming the next Black Panther could arguably limit the character's potential to replace Iron Man in the MCU, the fact is that she is the best person for the job.
After Chadwick Boseman tragically passed in August 2020, Marvel viewers rightly demanded the MCU not replace T'Challa with another actor. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever honors this request by putting Boseman's T'Challa to rest as well, though the cause of the Black Panther's death in the MCU remains unclear. That said, the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever suggests that the movie will reveal how T'Challa died, and explore the legacy of the superhero.

Though every Marvel reveal from Comic-Con 2022 leads to a highly anticipated MCU project, theBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer stole the show by teasing not just a war between Wakanda and Atlantis, but also the eventual reveal of a new Black Panther. Apart from Shuri, contenders for the role include T'Challa's ex-lover and Wakandan War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o) as well as Dora Milaje leader Okoye (Danai Gurira). However, there is simply more evidence to suggest that it is Shuri who becomes the MCU's next Black Panther.
