As she gears up for her franchise debut in the upcoming film, the first look at Iron Man successor Ironheart's suit has been revealed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Funko POPs. Dominique Thorne, well-known for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk and Judas and the Black Messiah, is making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Riri Williams, a young inventor who is inspired by the late Tony Stark and decides to built a suit to rival his Iron Man armor. Thorne is also set to lead her own Ironheart Disney+ series, which was confirmed for a Fall 2023 premiere window at San Diego Comic-Con.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will see the titular kingdom in an emotional upheaval in the wake of King T'Challa's death, following the real-life tragedy of star Chadwick Boseman's passing during the film's development. Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje will have to rise up and protect their homeland from invading forces seeking to take it for themselves, including Namor and the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. This week saw the first footage from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever screened at SDCC, but now audiences are getting an exciting new look at one character's MCU debut.
