We’re already halfway through August! How did that happen? What that means in terms of the gaming world is that it means Gamescom in Cologne is next week, and we’ll be at the conference to bring you coverage of as many games as possible (we’re seeing about 50 between us!). In the meantime I’ve been playing a lot of American football as the preseason of the NFL has started. That’s been lots of Legend Bowl, and then a heap of Madden 24 in the last two days. We’re not quite ready to put a score on it, but we’re impressed so far. Besides that I’m trying to get through Baldur’s Gate 3, and it is overwhelmingly big. It’s wonderful too.
Tuffcub has been playing Destiny 2, because of course he has, while Aran has been playing a bit more of XIII “which is okay”. He’s also playing Immortals of Aveum for our review.
Nick P has continued his rank climb in Street Fighter 6, dodged killers in Dead by Daylight, explored abandoned stations in Fort Solis (for review) and pre-installed the Mortal Kombat 1 beta for tomorrow!
Nic B had a big week as he got married! Congratualtions Mr and Mrs Bunce! He tells us, “Now that my wedding is done and dusted (Achievement Unlocked, was rewarded with a cool cosmetic, a ring for my character), I’m back to reviewing games. That’s all I can say about [embargoed] for now”
Steve has had a difficult couple of weeks due to personal issues so he’s throwing himself into dark and depressing games “in a slightly perverse attempt to distract myself/wrest some control from the world”.
