Thor is the first character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get four solo movies, and his fourth adventure is Thor: Love & Thunder, his return to the big screen after the events of Avengers: Endgame – and here’s what happened to Thor between Endgame and Love & Thunder. The MCU is continuing its expansion with its Phase 4, which is introducing new characters, events, and concepts, and while the main one so far is the multiverse, it’s also taking time to explore other types of stories. Among those not entirely about the multiverse is Thor: Love & Thunder, which brings some beloved characters back.
Thor: Love & Thunder is one of the most anticipated movies from the MCU’s Phase 4, and accompanying Thor in this new adventure are the Guardians of the Galaxy (with whom he left at the end of Avengers: Endgame), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander), and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who is set to become the Mighty Thor, just like she did in the comics. Thor and company will come face to face with Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a villain unlike any other Thor has battled before. As mentioned above, Thor: Love & Thunder is Thor’s return to the MCU after the events of Avengers: Endgame, in which all the MCU heroes came together to save the universe from Thanos and his armies.
