With just a few months until the theatrical release of Thor: Love and Thunder, a new piece of merchandise teases New Asgard as a monetized tourist attraction. Taika Waititi famously overhauled the self-serious Thor franchise with Thor: Ragnarok, awarding the God of Thunder with some much-needed levity. Waititi’s follow-up, Love and Thunder, is set to be released in theaters on July 8 and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
Thor: Love and Thunder will see Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) lift Mjolnir and take up her ex-boyfriend’s thunderous mantel. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the film will presumably pick up with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) abroad the Milano alongside the “Asgardians of the Galaxy.” The cast also includes Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif, Christian Bale as antagonist Gorr the God Butcher, Russell Crowe as the Greek god Zeus, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie—who now rules, or rather hosts New Asgard as king.
