Merchandise for the Ms. Marvel Disney+ TV show reveals Avengers tourism in the MCU takes fans to Wakanda, Sokovia, and upstate New York. Created late in 2013, Kamala Khan—better known to the world as Ms. Marvel—was envisioned as an everyman hero after the pattern of Spider-Man. She was Marvel's first Muslim-American superhero to headline her own comic book, making her a welcome step forward for the publisher in terms of diversity. She'll soon make her official MCU debut in a Disney+ TV series, with teenage actress Iman Vellani cast as Kamala Khan.
Excitement is building for Ms. Marvel ahead of the show's premiere on Disney+ on June 8, and tie-in merchandise is giving viewers a greater sense of the world Kamala Khan inhabits. Where Moon Knight is self-contained, Ms. Marvel will serve as something of a celebration of the MCU to date; Kamala is a fan who gains superpowers, after all, meaning her decisions will be heavily influenced by the example of the Avengers. Ms. Marvel is known to kick off when Kamala attends AvengersCon in New Jersey, providing plenty of merchandising opportunities for Marvel Studios in the real world.
