A new Ms. Marvel trailer showcases more of Kamala Khan's new cosmic powers. With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness finally hitting theaters and Moon Knight wrapping up on Disney+, Marvel Studios has now begun to shift focus to the next installment in the MCU, Ms. Marvel. The series focuses on Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American high school student who finds a magical artifact that gives her cosmic superpowers.
The character is a relatively new addition to the Marvel Universe after debuting in 2014, but she has gained a loyal and passionate fanbase and her show has been highly anticipated. The series has already undergone a certain amount of scrutiny with the decision to change her powers, which in the comics are elongation that allows her to alter any part of her body mass and is derived from her Inhuman DNA. The series has opted to change it to an artifact that gives her cosmic powers but still allows her to create her signature giant fist like in the comics. This change, like the change to organic web-shooters in 2002's Spider-Man, has led to a certain amount of criticism.
