Elden Ring is the spiritual successor to FromSoftware's Dark Souls series and continues the tradition of deadly bosses, limited items, and drop-in multiplayer. However, one of Elden Ring's biggest changes to the classic Dark Souls formula is its significant expansion of the crafting and item system. Players can harvest materials to make all kinds of equipment for themselves in the Lands Between, including life-saving Boluses.
Boluses are a range of consumables that protect players fromElden Ring's worst status effects. There are seven Boluses in total, and the three that are most powerful all use Crystal Cave Moss as a crafting ingredient. These are the Preserving, Clarifying, and Rejuvenating Boluses, which cure Scarlet Rot, Madness, and Death Blight respectively. There are many regions and enemies in the Lands Between that constantly threaten these deadly status effects, and players may need to farm Crystal Cave Moss in order to create enough Boluses.
Elden Ring — Dagger Talisman Location (Enhances Critical Hits)
As players might expect from the name, Crystal Cave Moss is found primarily in caves. Specifically, they're most often found in caves with some kind of magical influence. There are five recommended caves for finding large amounts of Crystal Cave Moss, two in Liurnia of the Lakes, two in Caelid, and one in the Altus Plateau:
Crystal Cave Moss respawns whenever a player dies or rests at one of Elden Ring's Sites of Grace. This would make the Moss easy to farm, but, unfortunately, enemies also respawn at these triggers. While high-leveled players should have little trouble cutting through the earlier caves repeatedly, the best place to farm Crystal Cave Moss doesn't require any fighting at all.
