The villain to defeat in the upcoming Thor: Love & Thunder is Gorr the God Butcher, and through him, the Marvel Cinematic Universe could introduce a new time travel method that will also link Thor’s new solo adventure to the current multiverse theme in the MCU. The MCU’s Phase 4 is not only introducing new characters, concepts, and events, but it’s also continuing the stories of already established characters, among those Thor. Ragnarok made some much-needed changes to Thor by fleshing out his personality, embracing his comedic side, and giving him some character development, and his journey will continue in Thor: Love & Thunder. The newest Thor movie will see the return of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander), and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), this last one set to become the Mighty Thor. Thor: Love & Thunder will also introduce Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a ruthless villain unlike any other Thor has encountered before.
