Briarcliff Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group have announced the release date for the Frank Grillo horror movie.
In the movie, a supermoon event triggers a latent gene in every human on the planet, turning anyone who enters the moonlight into a werewolf for that one night. Subsequently, chaos ensues, and close to a billion people die. Now, a year later, the Supermoon is back….
The Werewolves release date has been confirmed as December 6, 2024. It will be a theatrical release.
Interestingly, the werewolves in the movie are practical designs. They’re built by Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr. They’ve previously worked on the Alien and Predator franchises.
Werewolves is directed by Steven C. Miller (Margaux, Line of Duty). Written by Matthew Kennedy (Inheritance). As has been noted, the movie stars Frank Grillo (Captain America and The Purge franchises, Kingdom) alongside Katrina Law (NCIS), Ilfenesh Hadera (Godfather of Harlem), James Michael Cummings (City on the Hill), and Lou Diamond Phillips (Prodigal Son).
Werewolf movies are back in fashion. Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man is leading the charge for the latest wave of lycanthrope films. In addition, there’s the Kit Harrington movie What Remains of Us and Larry Fessenden’s Blackout. Freaky and Happy Death Day filmmaker Christopher Landon is also tackling werewolves with Big Bad next year.
